No Evil- Mental Health

Photoshoot today, for my friends mental health awareness campaign. I was asked to do some simple shots on the 'see,hear, speak no evil' concept. Rather like the photos and the natural lighting.

Swirlyyy

I set myself the summer mission of improving my illustration skills as mine were awful before summer!
I think i can say iv not done too bad, although people who have seen my sketch book might say different.
Im particularly fond of these sketches, with the exception of the octopus which im not too keen on now, his legs seem to have got a bit tangles. My pen was running out when i was doing these so they arnt amazing quality but im rather fond of the owl and the whale :)

Key Rings

I apologise for the lack of blogging lately, iv been rather busy making thing for my shop which i'l hopefully be opening on etsy soon :)
Heres some sneak previews of some of the things il be selling, the photos dont do them justice, and the jack skeleton keyring isnt quiet dry (i was in a bit of a rush at the time)
Im not sure if il be selling the heart keyrings yet, im not 100% sure i like them, but the raindrop keyring and crisp packet badges will definatly be going up, hopefully along with some prints of my work :)

A little bit more propaganda

Propaganda

Bit of experimentation with the propaganda flyers, me and len currently rather like the green one, but i would like opinions on these please, the red one below included, also any suggestions welcome too :)

Maiden

These are an album cover and poster i did for iron maiden when i was first year college, i loved them at the time but looking back now i really wonder what on earth i was thinking, im quiet happy at how much my design work has definatly moved on since these and think i may have a second attempt at this project just to prove i can do soo much better now!

Propaganda!

My friend asked me to design some flyers for his new radio show in september at uni, he decided to call his show propaganda and told me the basics of what he wanted. This is what i came up with, well one side of the flyer at least, i have plans for the back of the flyer too but i need all the information first of course :)

Me :)

I decided id have a go using my new found illustrator skills and decided to trace an image of myself and do a cartoon type effect, this is the result. I'm not completly sure if i like it, think it needs more work so I'm going to have a play around with it at a later date as my eyes now hurt from being too close to the screen for too long.

Vines

A bit more of the old photoshopping, came out with some vines this time, I think it would have been a hell of a lot easier to do this on in illustrator with the pen tool but i thought id have a go in photoshop anyway :)

Adobe illustrator

Today i progressed on my mission to learn adobe illustrator, its taken a while but with a bit of explaining I seem to have got the basics now, especially of the pen tool, seem to have the paint tool sorted too, although im sure il still get frustrated at it often. Anyway this is my emo girl, drawn completly from scratch in illustrator :)

Brushes

More photoshop experiementation with brushes, starting to get really addicted to this stuff now, its so simple yet looks so cool, half tempted to get some of these printed on canvas or something and put them on my wall. Let me know what you think :)

My friend Laura wanted me to make her some cupcake stickers, so here they are!Once again hand drawn as i dont have access to a decent enough printer at the moment. I think theyve come out pretty good considering. Hope she likes them :)

Found.

Found these amazing shoes today, i'm actually in love with them, theyre so cool! I'm well gutted the girl who designed them only does one off pieces so that your never going to bump into someone with the same shoes as you anywhere in the world. She makes custom shoes based exactly on what each customer wants, check her website out here.

Ever since I can remember iv loved iron maiden and there album cover work which is famously done by derek riggs. This is my interpretation of one of Rigg's pieces he did for the band, not the vest sketch in the world but the images tend to be very detailed and hard to copy.

Submitted these designs to teetonic today, hopefully theyl get okay'ed for voting and i'l put the links up when they do, hopefully they'l do a bit better than my last design.

Think outside the box

Typography seems to be my theme today so I had a bit of a mess around in photoshop, I kept it fairly simple, just using black and white, and i changed the phrases a couple of times, but i quiet like the finished result :)

Had a bit of a mess around with different photoshop effects for photos, i kind of liked the combination of the images together :)

Bit of photoshop work again, created my own brush then had a mess around with colour and the warp tool and came out with these, rather like them.

Got down to a bit of photoshop experimenting this morning and came out with this cool thing, i expected it to be a lot harder to achieve but it turned out to be fairly simple.

Another competition entered, this time This is Art Lincs, submission was for two pieces only, had to be taken in Lincolnshire and had to be unedited, these fitted the brief perfectly.

A bit of inspiration

Heres some bits and pieces iv collected over the years, i tend to pick up anything that attracts my eye (those of you who know me will know i do this a lot) I like anything a bit different usually, anything vintage looking and design that uses good photography. Im sure there will be more of these little gems coming soon :)

Competition

Entered another competition, they wanted basicly any type of art, the website was a bit confusing, had to email in my entries but hopefully that'l work and then i might win things :)

Shutter Speed, Take two

Another shutter speed experiment, again in my back garden so not the most ground breaking images. I do like the colour in these images though, particularly fond on the bottom image, let me know what you think.
